Q1 2026 Update: Adaptive Currency, Upselling, UPI & More
Q1 is nearly done, and it's been a busy one. Adaptive Currency shipped and is now live by default for all stores, upselling is out, UPI payments are supported, and there's already more queued up for Q2. Here's everything that landed.

Adaptive Currency: Sell in Any Currency, Settle in Yours
Adaptive Currency is now live and enabled by default for every PayNow store.
If your store runs in EUR and a customer visits from the US, they'll see prices in USD and can pay in USD. If they'd rather pay in your store's base currency, that option is still available at checkout. PayNow carries the full FX risk – if rates move between when a customer sees a price and when they pay, on refunds, subscription renewals, or anything else, we cover the difference. There's no extra fee on your end. The conversion cost is built into the rate shown to the customer.
The practical impact for gaming store owners: fewer payment declines (card networks prefer local currency transactions), no surprise conversion fees for customers, and access to every alternative payment method we support regardless of what currency your store operates in. On average, stores see 18% higher international revenue after enabling it.
Currently supports USD, GBP, and EUR, with CAD and AUD coming soon. Available for customers in the US, UK, and Eurozone. You can opt out anytime under Store → Settings → Payment Settings → Adaptive Currency.
Regional Payment Methods, Now Available to Every Store
With Adaptive Currency live, every payment method PayNow supports is now accessible regardless of your store's base currency. That means gaming stores operating in EUR can now offer Cash App Pay to US customers, and USD stores can offer iDEAL to Dutch customers — without any configuration changes:
- Klarna (EEA, US, GB)
- Cash App Pay (US) – 10% market share
- Cash App Afterpay (US)
- Amazon Pay (US)
- BLIK (Poland)
- iDEAL / Wero (Netherlands) – 65% market share
- MB WAY (Portugal) – 45% market share
- MobilePay (Denmark, Finland, Norway) – 10% market share
- Przelewy24 (Poland) – 50% market share
- Revolut Pay (EEA) – 8% market share
- Satispay (Italy)
- TWINT (Switzerland) – 30% market share
A Dutch player who uses iDEAL for everything isn't going to pull out a card just because your store doesn't natively support it. This coverage directly translates to purchases you'd otherwise lose.
Upselling: Increase Average Order Value at Checkout
Native upselling is now live for all PayNow stores. You can suggest complementary products or upgrades directly at checkout, increasing average order value without adding friction for the customer.
You choose how it appears from three display types in your PayNow dashboard:
- Inline – upsells appear directly within the checkout flow
- Inline + Pre-payment dialog – inline placement with a popup before the customer pays
- Dedicated step – a standalone upsell step in the checkout process
There's also an automatic recommendations toggle. Turn it on and we handle suggestions for you – this will get smarter over time as we collect more data from the feature. If you'd rather have full control, you can configure recommendations manually per-product or per-store.
Works on both the standard checkout page and the iframe embed. Available on all plans, Free and up.
UPI Payments for Indian Customers
Indian customers can now pay with UPI directly on PayNow stores. Our integration is fully native – customers complete the payment without leaving your checkout or being redirected to an external page, which is how most other platforms handle it. The result is faster payments, fewer abandoned checkouts, and better conversion rates for stores with Indian audiences.
Up Next in Q2
Store dashboard redesign – new UI, fresh look, and a round of bug fixes across the PayNow store management experience. More details coming closer to launch.
Paysafecard – we're working with Paysafe on the integration, expanding prepaid payment options for European players. It's been taking longer than we'd like, but it's on its way.
Checkout Localizations – PayNow checkout will automatically localize into most major languages, removing another barrier for international customers.
Subscription tier upgrades & downgrades – customers will be able to upgrade or downgrade between subscription tiers directly, without having to cancel and resubscribe. Proration handled automatically.
