FastSpring is built for B2B software.
We are built for games and software.
FastSpring and PayNow are both Merchants of Record, so tax, fraud and disputes are the platform’s job either way. The differences are that our pricing is published, we don’t add a fixed fee to small orders, and our store can deliver in-game.
The short version
FastSpring has sold digital goods since 2005 and is built around B2B software: invoicing, purchase orders and round-the-clock support for your end customers. Like us, they’re the Merchant of Record.
Whether we’re cheaper we can’t say, because FastSpring doesn’t publish its rates; you get a number from their sales team, and it’s a percentage plus a fixed fee on every transaction. Ours is 3.5% down to 2.5% by plan plus the gateway fee, with no fixed fee at any order size, on the pricing page with a calculator next to it. Get their quote in writing, put it next to ours, and ask whether they take game-server stores at all.

Six things to get in writing
Since they don’t publish rates, these are the questions that decide what you’ll actually pay.
1.The percentage
On gross or on what is left after processing? The base matters as much as the number.
2.The fixed fee
Any per-transaction amount. On a $5 rank a fixed fee can dwarf the percentage.
3.Currency conversion
What is charged when the buyer pays in one currency and you are paid in another.
4.Risk and screening fees
Anything billed for fraud screening, reviews or manual checks.
5.Payout schedule
How often you are paid, and whether a new account is held first.
6.Dispute costs
The fee per dispute, win or lose, and who assembles the evidence.
Where FastSpring wins
When it comes to enterprise procurement, they have about two decades of practice on us.
Two decades of compliance. Selling digital goods since 2005, with a long track record across awkward jurisdictions.
B2B invoicing and quotes. Purchase orders, invoicing and the paperwork enterprise software buyers ask for.
24/7 end-customer support. They answer your buyers around the clock. Ours is hours, on business days.
